Standard Lithium Smackover Project

30,000 Net Brine Acres

Standard Lithium has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a non-affiliated NYSE-listed company option to acquire certain rights to conduct brine exploration and production and lithium extraction activities on approximately 30,000 net brine acres. The brine leases overlie the Smackover Formation in a region with a long history of commercial-scale brine processing.

Review of historical published brine data from within and adjacent to the lease area leads the Company to believe that lithium-bearing brines are likely present, though further work will be conducted during the due-diligence period to confirm this.

The Smackover Formation which extends through Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana, has produced billions of barrels of brines over the last 80 years from an extensive and extremely well characterized aquifer.

According to the Arkansas Geological Survey, brine production was estimated at 267,503,967 barrels in 2013. Historic analysis of Arkansas Smackover oilfield brine on average contained 365mg/l lithium.

The Smackover is low risk, offers well understood geology and chemistry with significant existing brine production and mineral/chemical extraction infrastructure in Arkansas.
