STANDARD LITHIUM COMMENCES GRAVITY GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY AT BRISTOL LAKE, MOJAVE PROJECT
March 27, 2017 – Vancouver, BC – Standard Lithium Ltd. (“Standard Lithium” or the “Company”) (TSXV: SLL) (FRA: S5L) is pleased to announce that it has commenced a large-scale gravity geophysical survey at the Company’s Bristol Lake Project, in the Mojave area of California.
Standard Lithium has retained Hasbrouck Geophysics to perform data acquisition and interpretation. Hasbrouck is ideally suited to performing the work as they have extensive experience conducting geophysical surveys in brine-bearing basins across the southwestern US. The work is being conducted so that Standard can begin to understand the depth to bedrock across the basin and from that, begin to determine how deep and extensive the brine-bearing resource may be. The work is being performed not only on the 4,000+ acres of claims that are optioned to Standard, but also on the adjacent approximate 20,000 acres of minerals claims and leases operated by National Chloride.
The Hasbrouck team has mobilised to site and it is anticipated that field work will take approximately 3 weeks. The interpreted data that results from the gravity survey will be used to help scope and determine locations for the next phases of Standard’s resource assessment program for the Bristol Lake Project. The Bristol Lake playa is a flat salt lake in the Mojave desert that occupies approximately 155 sq. km in a 2,000 sq. km arid drainage basin. There are two established brine producers in the basin and 100+ years of industrial mineral production from the brine deposits.
Mr. Robert Mintak, CEO of Standard Lithium commented, “The team at Standard is delighted to be able to kickoff the extensive and aggressive resource definition and project development program that we have scheduled for the Bristol Lake Project. I’m also very grateful to the spirit of cooperation shown to Standard by National Chloride in allowing us to conduct non-intrusive work on their property and therefore generate a much more extensive and holistic understanding of the basin.”
